What a day! The sixth annual Mount Pleasant Village Harvest Fair took place this past Saturday and was a huge success! Thousands strolled the village and enjoyed the many family, fall themed activities hosted by the businesses including face painting, balloon makers, children’s entertainers and free giveaways. Once again, the hit of the day was the return of the Petting Zoo. Children of all ages got a chance to get up close and personal with animals – a unique experience that one doesn’t typically find downtown Toronto!
A number of creative entries were found in the pumpkin carving contest, which was sponsored by Shoppers Drug Mart, Sobeys and Mount Pleasant Road Baptist Church, with winners taking home Mount Pleasant Village dollars for prizes. The winners for the pumpkin carving contest were:
- First Place: Tracy Murphy
- Second Place: Margaut & Myrna
- Third Place: Cabirina, Olivia, Katerina
Contestants came hungry to the Apple Pie Eating Contest, sponsored by Flaky Tart, Shoppers Drug Mart and RBC. The winners who ate the most in five minutes are:
- First Place: Codetski Jaigobin
- Second Place: Julian from The Chef Upstairs
- Third Place: Niki Radu
